Sustainability

When it comes to VoIP phone service, you can see that this type of business communications solution is rapidly becoming the system of choice. The reasons for this have to do with the following VoIP qualities:

  • Sustainable
  • Ecologically friendly
  • “Go Green” advertising credit to attract new customers
  • Only two major components required
  • Choice of Hosted or IP PBX systems

A major selling point is VoIP’s ability to assist those who wish to do their part when it comes to protecting the environment. This translates into more companies adopting a VoIP solution for the purpose of “Going Green” than ever before.

If a business wants to “Go Green”, then two things are required – ecologically friendly practices and sustainability. It’s common for a business to choose one major ecologically friendly solution to put into practice. Then smaller changes are adopted, which are linked to that one major solution.

With a VoIP phone system, a business will have chosen an excellent solution to accomplish this goal. The number of employees needed, on-site, will be reduced, for example. This creates a smaller biological footprint that would normally utilize energy resources, such as gas, water and electricity. Less office equipment and supplies will be purchased along with smaller office space used and less landfill resources taken up.

The VoIP equipment is also portable. This allows employees to work remotely. All that is needed is a VoIP account and an available Internet broadband connection. Traveling will be less expensive and some employees can even telecommute, which saves on vehicle fuel consumption. Being able to use available broadband connections means less equipment that needs to be taken on business trips. It should also be noted that VoIP users can make calls from anywhere in the world and the cost will be the same as if they were calling from on office extension to the other.

A VoIP service can be adopted through the use of only two major components: a PC or IP phone and a broadband connection.

Finally, it’s important to note that there are two distinct types of VoIP phone systems. With an IP PBX system, a switching device is installed in your office and the system functions like a traditional phone service. With a Hosted VoIP PBX system, a data system handles the calls and forwards them to your extensions.
